At the age of 7, Lorraine announced that she would be a storyteller when she grew up and hasn’t looked back since. She moved from Halifax to Montreal in 2000 to study Creative Writing and English Literature at Concordia University and she is now a Montreal-based writer and filmmaker. Lorraine’s debut feature documentary Last Woman Standing premiered in 2013 at Hot Docs International Film Festival where it finished 5th in the Top Ten Audience Choice. Her second film, Inside These Walls premiered on CBC Main Channel in October 2016 and is nominated for a 2017 Golden Sheaf Award in the category of Best Social/Political Documentary. Recently, Lorraine attended a 10-day practical workshop in Cuba with Werner Herzog where she wrote and directed her first short fiction film, Magic. A lover of storytelling in all its forms, but with a soft spot for true stories told well, Lorraine is thrilled to join the TRH team.
